Issues of Interest

MBBTC members continue to be primarily interested in canine health and temperament, and in Breed Specific Legislation, which is prejudicial and short sighted. Our position is relatively simple in a situation that is far from simple. Legislation that calls for ethnic cleansing or prejudicial treatment based on color, creed, religion, breed, etc is unjust and immoral. Punishment should be based on behavior.

Political and media sensationalists are having a field day, mostly for their own benefit. We have to confront their selfish and poorly thought-out actions at every turn. Morally, we stand with protecting the rights of people and their dogs. We believe we should help as best we can, those who are unjustly treated, while protecting the reputation of our breed.

The "who will stand for me, when they come for me" observation made by many is chilling! Denial that that could happen will not make the possiblity any less, as history has repeatedly proven. And misidentification is all too easy and perilous.

PUNISH THE DEED! NOT THE BREED!
